Fortnite Champion Series Invitational announced with $2 million prize pool

The Fortnite Competitive Team announced Friday the launch of the Fortnite Champion Series Invitational, a solos competition with a prize pool of $2 million and a new scoring format. The competition will begin on Saturday, May 9.

According to a tweet from the official Fortnite Competitive account, the tournament will run for the rest of the season, and “competitors will have an opportunity to qualify to compete against the best of the best from past FNCS Grand Finals for their share of the $2 million prize pool.”

Through all regions, the top 100 players from previous FNCS events will be invited back to participate, including 100 direct invites at the sole discretion of Epic Games. The previous FNCS listed on the official release include: Chapter 2; Season 2 PC FNCS Finals Chapter 2; Season 2 Console/Mobile FNCS Finals Chapter 2; Season 1 FNCS Finals Season X FNCS Finals.
